![]() We would need a way to FLIP the blades, or a seperate set of blades that are carved with the opposite angle, to make a set where one would go clockwise, the other counter-clockwise, but have both push up. I don't know of a good way to solve this. If you make them spin the same direction, they'll both push upward, but then you won't have the counter-directional rotation and your craft will constantly corkscrew to the left. ![]() I just finished my first WORKING and steerable 'flying ship' as i like to call them :3 I am now able to not only fly it but also let it float steadily in the air. The problem is that if you have 2 sets of propeller blades, one to the left, one to the right, you can make them spin opposite directions by pressing F on the spinning block, but that will make 1 push up and 1 push down, because there's no way to mirror the blades, only turn them. A video of it flying would be awesome as well, so as to get a little insight in the mechanichs. Rotating them changes the position of the block but not the direction in which they spin R rotates 90 degrees. to get counter rotation out of a single prop mount they need to spin in opposite directions. I didnt have much time and had to reverse-engineer it from memory, so the tutorial is kind of sloppy (and to be honest, the machine itself has some issues), but hopefully someone will find it useful. There are some dyanics modelled and they seem to be different once the vehicle is in the air? Not sure because I haven't managed more than a few seconds.Originally posted by c4ifford:flipping it only changes it 90 degrees. I just was going through the new levels and I realized I had already made a machine that worked fairly well for zones 17-20. With the wheels you can do a reverse counter-propeller, but some torque remains. ![]() Tonight I'm going to try to use counterweight ballast to counter the torque. ![]() I'm referring to the rotor blades on a block on a wheel propeller design by the way, due to its adjustable speed and greater lift. I tried using a prop in the front, a prop in the back, dual wingmounted props, quad wingmounted props, but they all torque the fuselage too much. I think it's only possible to create helicopter type flying machines. And if you try a spinning block with propellars attached to it the whole thing torques and is unflyable. You have to add blocks to add more flying blocks and the weight of those blocks negates the extra power from the added flying blocks. I've been trying but the flying block doesn't spin fast enough.
